Mia Boyle
Mia sees yoga primarily as a technology to facilitate and deepen our relationship to the self. Through discovering the innate wisdom of the body, we learn to dismantle the invisible constraints that arise from the hectic pace of daily modern life. In these classes we will practice the art of focus and intention within a dynamic framework to experience both rigorous and restorative postures. Attention will be given to the subtle awareness of our thoughts and attitudes within the context of breath, movement and physical awareness. Utilizing the art of Hatha yoga we will emphasize various aspects of anatomy: there is a focus on spinal alignment, building strength and exploring the economy of grace as we exercise our conscious intentions and a deepening presence within the physical body.
Mia obtained certification to teach Hatha yoga at Samadhi studios in Seattle in 2000. She has augmented her training under various yoga masters including Anna Forrest of Forrest Yoga, Edward Clark of Tripsichore, Shiva Rea and Andre Lappa of Universal Yoga. She has also studied Anatomy with Ellen Heed and holds a degree in Philosophy from Sarah Lawrence College.
